Traditional Indian Ghagra-Choli Doll Ensemble

The ghagra – choli is a traditional dress from India.  The outfit is made from bright pink silky fabric with a golden sheen to it, hand printed with little gold flowers.  It comes with the customary scarf in a hot pink. All clothing is “fair-trade.”

Did you know that women in India use their scarf for all kinds of different reasons – sometimes to protect their faces from the sun, sometimes to cover their heads as a sign of respect and sometimes they tie a knot in the scarf to hold their house keys so they don’t lose them!  Other interesting information about India is included with the outfit in a beautiful card.
